Report: Doncic receiving pain-killing injections for chest injury
Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic received a pain-killing injection for a thoracic contusion before Game 2 of the NBA Finals and is expected to take another one before Game 3, sources told ESPN's Tim MacMahon and Malika Andrews.
Doncic was listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's 105-98 loss to the Boston Celtics with the chest injury, along with a right knee sprain and left ankle soreness.
Doncic is probable for Game 3.
"I feel good. I don't want to give any more details, but I feel good," Doncic told reporters, including MacMahon, on Tuesday.
Despite his discomfort, Doncic is averaging 31 points, 10.5 rebounds, and six assists per game while shooting 51.1% from the floor. However, his one assist in Game 1 was his lowest tally in three years.
The Mavericks have been ice-cold around Doncic, averaging just 93.5 points per game in the series after putting up 111.4 points a night in the Western Conference finals.
Dallas will look to bring the NBA Finals to 2-1 on its home floor Wednesday night.
