Zion's lawyers file protective order over inquiry into alleged Duke benefits

Attorneys for Zion Williamson have filed for a protective order to block his former agent's inquiry into past eligibility at Duke and whether he received any improper economic benefits from the college basketball powerhouse, according to documents Forbes' Daniel Wallach obtained.

The New Orleans Pelicans rookie has been involved in a court case with his former marketing agent Gina Ford over a contractual dispute, and Ford is suing Williamson for $100 million. Lawyers for Ford have indicated they will attempt to depose Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski as part of the case.

Williamson's lawyers have argued that the inquiry is "invasive," "legally irrelevant," and "nothing more than a fishing expedition aimed at tarnishing Williamson's reputation", according to Wallach.
