North Carolina adds top transfer Nance
Northwestern forward and top remaining player in the transfer portal Pete Nance will play at North Carolina next season, he announced on Saturday.
The son of former NBA All-Star Larry Nance and brother of New Orleans Pelicans forward Larry Nance Jr., the younger Nance improved in each of his four seasons with the Wildcats, becoming a knockdown shooter and feared defender.
His senior campaign was the best of his college career, averaging 14.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while making 45% of his 3-pointers.
Following the season, Nance went through the draft process before eventually deciding to remain in college as a graduate transfer.
Nance will use his fifth year of eligibility to suit up for a potential national championship contender in the Tar Heels.
After head coach Hubert Davis and Co. made an unlikely surge to the title game last season as a No. 8 seed, four of their five starters opted to return to Chapel Hill. Only sharpshooting forward Brady Manek departed, and Nance is primed to fill his role.
