LSU's Orgeron: Visiting locker room in Texas had no A/C
LSU had to deal with difficult conditions in its locker room on the road while playing Texas on Saturday, according to Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron, who says the air conditioning wasn't working in the visitor's locker room at Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
Louisiana Tech tipped off LSU about the housekeeping measure after playing Texas the week prior, and the Tigers brought fans.
"It wasn't great, but it was better," Orgeron said, according to ESPN's Alex Scarborough. "(Louisiana Tech) didn't have air. We had some blowers in there."
Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte said it's the first time the school has heard of "any issues in that area."
"We provide one of the best visitor setups available and are proud of the efforts we put forth in hosting our guests," he said in a statement. "Our facilities staff did not receive any complaints from either Louisiana Tech or LSU, and we've confirmed that our air conditioning in the visiting locker room is in good working order."
Temperatures hit 95 degrees at kickoff, and many Tigers players cramped up during the game. Orgeron said the team will consider bringing in more IVs in the future.
