Irvin Jr., the 253rd-ranked recruit on ESPN's Jr. 300, was given offers from Alabama, Miami, Ole Miss, UCF, and Michigan State, where his father Sedrick played running back before becoming a fourth-round pick in the 1999 NFL Draft.
The running back is the 17th-ranked recruit at his position, and Notre Dame's fifth hard commit for the 2023 class. The Fighting Irish's class for that year is ranked third nationally, behind only Oklahoma and Georgia.
