LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt came off the injury report Friday, putting him on track to start Saturday's high-profile showdown against Ole Miss.

The Tigers listed Leavitt as doubtful Wednesday before upgrading him to questionable the next day.

LSU never revealed why Leavitt landed on the injury report in the first place, with a source telling the Associated Press he missed Wednesday's practice with a "physical issue." Reports suggested he was suffering from back spasms and soreness in his throwing shoulder.

Ole Miss was reportedly skeptical that Leavitt would be unavailable for the marquee contest, which marks Tigers coach Lane Kiffin's return after he bolted the school late last season.
