Premier League side Bournemouth signed striker Alvaro Rodriguez from Spanish club Elche on Tuesday for a reported $27.5 million euros ($37 million).
The target man netted seven goals last season in La Liga, including against giants Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, and is new coach Marco Rose's first signing.
"AFC Bournemouth is delighted to announce the signing of exciting young forward Alvaro Rodriguez on a long-term deal," said the English side in a statement.
"The 22-year-old joins the Cherries following an impressive 2025/26 campaign with La Liga side Elche."
Rodriguez developed at Real Madrid's youth academy and made his debut for Los Blancos under Carlo Ancelotti in January 2023, later spending time on loan at Getafe before joining Elche in 2025.
"It feels like a great privilege to be here. I've always wanted to play in the Premier League and now, on my birthday, that dream has become reality," Uruguay youth international Rodriguez told Bournemouth club media.
"It has been a dream since I was a child. When my agent told me Bournemouth were interested, I couldn't believe it.
"Everything I've experienced so far has prepared me for this next chapter, and now I want to keep improving and show what I can do."
