Though plantar fascia injuries - and particularly plantar fasciitis - are usually long term in nature, Cooper is expected to heal shortly from a small muscle strain, Fisher adds.
Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said the wideout will be evaluated on a daily basis, but he still isn't ready to practice yet, according to ESPN's Ed Werder.
"We don't think this is a long-term thing," Garrett told reporters on Tuesday. "But we just want to be deliberate in bringing him back."
The 25-year-old excelled in Dallas' offense after being acquired from the Oakland Raiders last October. He finished the 2018 season with 75 catches, 1,005 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns between the two clubs.
Cooper and the Cowboys are also negotiating a long-term contract extension, and the team is reportedly offering him top-five money.
