Giants' Jones: I'll be ready to go for Week 1

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is confident he'll be ready for the start of the 2024 season after suffering a torn ACL in November.

"I don't have any doubt about it," Jones said Thursday, according to NFL.com's Kevin Patra.

After taking part in seven-on-seven drills during Giants OTAs, Jones said it "felt good" to get back on the field and shake off the rust.

"Just getting back in the swing of things and playing football against the defense. ... Rehab process has been smooth up to this point, and (it) feels good doing all that kind of stuff," he said.

Despite consistent rumors that the Giants were considering drafting a quarterback, the club took former LSU receiver Malik Nabers with the No. 6 selection.

"I wasn't fired up about it," said Jones when asked about New York eyeing a potential replacement.

Jones is entering the second year of a four-year, $160-million extension. With a potential out for the Giants after the 2024 season, the quarterback will aim to rebound from pre-injury struggles and secure his long-term future.

The 26-year-old - who also missed three games with a neck injury - finished with 906 yards and two touchdowns against six interceptions during six appearances last season.
