Browns GM: Stefanski is 'part of the solution'
Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry fully supports head coach Kevin Stefanski despite the team's poor performance.
"Kevin is an outstanding coach, and he is absolutely part of the solution," Berry told reporters, including Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.
Stefanski has been Cleveland's head coach since 2020. In his first year on the sideline, the 42-year-old led the Browns to their first winning season in 13 years and captured his first NFL Coach of the Year title, winning his second the following year. Stefanski and Berry signed contract extensions in June.
"There are 13 coaches in the history of the sport to win a Coach of the Year award multiple times," Berry said. "And he's the second-fastest to do it."
The Browns are off to a 2-7 start and sit last in the AFC North. Cleveland's offense is one of the worst in the NFL this season, ranked 28th in both points per game and passing yards and last in third-down conversions.
Berry also noted that a potential roster teardown would be looked at after the season.
"Our fans aren't happy. We're not happy internally," he said in a press conference. "The first nine games, we haven't played to an acceptable level."
After their bye week, the Browns head to Louisiana to play the New Orleans Saints on Nov. 17.
