The Dallas Wings didn't have to look far to make the first overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft. When the time came, the team selected center Charli Collier out of Texas.
The 6-foot-5 junior averaged 19 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game in 2020-21, leading the sixth-seeded Longhorns to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament.
Dallas went abroad to follow up its major in-state acquisition, selecting 19-year-old Finnish big Awak Kuier with the second overall pick. The Wings then added Arkansas shooting guard Chelsea Dungee with the No. 5 pick to cap their big first round.
