Erling Haaland was left out of Manchester City's squad for Sunday's match against Liverpool due to a lingering knee injury.
Manchester City were beaten 2-0 by the Premier League leaders at the Etihad Stadium.
The Norwegian striker got hurt during City's 4-0 victory over Newcastle United last weekend.
The knee issue also kept Haaland out of Manchester City's loss at Real Madrid in the Champions League last Wednesday even though he was named to the bench.
The 24-year-old has 19 goals in 25 Premier League games this season.
He trails Mohamed Salah, who scored in Sunday's match, by six goals in the race for the Golden Boot.
