Previewing MLB The Show 19 with game designer Ramone Russell
MLB The Show 19 hits shelves Tuesday with great fanfare. Bryce Harper is the cover boy in his new Philadelphia Phillies duds, and that's not the only addition to this year's game.
Ramone Russell, community manager and game designer for The Show, dropped by theScore's offices to walk us through some of the highlights of game modes both new (March to October and Moments) and returning (Diamond Dynasty, Road to the Show, and Franchise), while also detailing some tweaks to gameplay like changes to pitch speed, adjustments to defensive mechanics, and an increased focus on improvements to contact hitters.
Russell also emphasized that more will be revealed upon the game's release and with live updates throughout the summer and into fall. This year's edition of The Show still has secrets, and in the interest in preserving the surprise, Russell kept them under wraps.
Please note that the interview was edited and condensed for time.
MLB The Show 19 is available March 26 for the PlayStation 4.
