San Francisco Giants ace Madison Bumgarner and closer Will Smith are not available for trade at the moment, a person with direct knowledge of the team's plans told SNY's Andy Martino.

The Giants are said to be genuinely undecided on whether to trade their top starter and reliever. San Francisco has won 13 of its last 15 games to leap back into the playoff race - an unexpected twist following the team's dismal first half of the season.

Additionally, while he possesses ample playoff pedigree, Bumgarner may not have as much trade value as the Giants had hoped. The team reportedly attempted to trade him a month ago, to no avail. It appears a decline in raw stuff could concern potential suitors such as the New York Yankees, who are lukewarm on Bumgarner and prefer other trade candidates, according to Martino.

This season, Bumgarner owns a career-worst 3.65 ERA over 125 2/3 innings, though he's been hot lately. He gave up one run over nine frames against the New York Mets on Thursday before the Giants won in extra innings.

"I don't give a shit," the 29-year-old said after the start when asked about trade speculation, according to Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR. "I'm here to win games for this team, and that's what we're doing."

Bumgarner added that he and his teammates are focused solely on making a playoff push.

Smith, a first-time All-Star in 2019, has a 2.68 ERA and 24 saves in 41 appearances this season.

The latest news follows a report from Wednesday that said the Giants were prepared to go ahead with their "trade-Bumgarner-and-all-the-relievers plan" despite their torrid stretch.
