Recovering Ortiz shares photos of dropping daughter off at college

Big Papi appears to be doing well.

Retired Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz shared a pair of photographs of himself with his family on Sunday, the first such photos since he was shot in the Dominican Republic on June 9.

He was celebrating his daughter Alex's trip to college, where he was dropping her off.

"A life experience (takes) place on us dropping off one of my kids at college," Ortiz wrote. "Good luck with everything and remember: '(To) be great you have to bring the best out of you (every day).' (Love) you ... mom & dad!"

Ortiz has been quiet on social media throughout his recovery but took a moment to share a couple of pictures of some food he was enjoying after being released from Massachusetts General Hospital in July.
