The Yankees announced the giveaway Tuesday, one day after Major League Baseball found the Astros guilty of using technology to steal signs from opponents and relay them to their hitters by banging on a trash can.
New York accused the Astros of stealing signs during the 2019 American League Championship Series, to which then-Houston manager AJ Hinch responded by calling such allegations "ridiculous."
The Astros were also hit with a $5-million fine as well as the forfeiture of two first- and second-round draft picks. Hinch and GM Jeff Luhnow were handed one-year suspensions and subsequently fired by team owner Jim Crane.
