St. Louis Cardinals president of baseball operations John Mozeliak is planning to keep All-Star closer Ryan Helsley despite trade speculation.

"It’s something we will always remain open-minded to, but our plan is to have him be part of our organization," Mozeliak told The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal on Thursday.

Helsley has one year of team control remaining and has been linked to trade rumors this offseason. The 30-year-old is projected to earn $6.9 million in his final season of arbitration, according to MLB Trade Rumors.

Helsley recently admitted he was uncertain of his future with the franchise after conversations with the front office.

The right-hander made his second All-Star team in 2024 and led MLB with 49 saves. Helsley owns a career 2.63 ERA with 84 saves and 10.7 K/9 across six seasons.
