The Tampa Bay Rays are exercising their $12-million club option on first baseman Yandy Díaz for the 2026 season, the club announced Friday.

The two sides also added a vesting option to Díaz's contract for the 2027 campaign.

Díaz inked a three-year, $24-million contract extension with the Rays ahead of the 2023 season.

The Rays acquired Díaz in a three-team trade in 2018. The 33-year-old has been a mainstay for the Rays over the past six seasons, making an All-Star team and winning the AL batting title in 2023.

Díaz has slashed .289/.374/.440 with 74 home runs, 142 doubles, and 313 RBIs across 666 games as a member of the Rays.

The veteran's 707 hits since the start of the 2019 campaign rank 13th among all American League hitters over that span.
