Twins' Lewis strains left hamstring for 2nd time this season

Minnesota Twins third baseman Royce Lewis exited Friday's loss to the Houston Astros with a strained left hamstring.

"He actually tested relatively well after the game upon examination in the training room," Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said postgame, according to Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "We're going to bring him in tomorrow and check him out, see how he comes in."

Lewis missed roughly the first month of the regular season after straining his left hamstring during spring training.

The 26-year-old has dealt with injuries throughout his career, missing time due to issues with his quad, adductor, oblique, and hamstring. He also tore his ACL for a second time in 2022.

Lewis has struggled at the plate this season, registering a .585 OPS with only two home runs and nine RBIs in 30 games. He had been heating up of late, hitting .429 with four runs scored and four RBIs across his last 21 at-bats.
