The 36-year-old was replaced by Jesus Sánchez after hobbling off the field with trainers.
Springer just returned Wednesday after missing more than two weeks with the toe injury.
The veteran slugger entered Saturday hitting .215/.301/.369 with two home runs and seven RBIs, including at least one hit in every game since his return.
