The Atlanta Braves placed outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring, the team announced Wednesday.

It's the second time this year that Acuña's left hamstring has sent him to the IL. He missed 13 games in May because of a strain.

This time, he's dealing with a Grade 1 strain, according to Braves broadcaster Wiley Ballard. Grade 1 strains are considered the least severe, and the Braves are optimistic about Acuña's overall prognosis. However, the team hasn't provided a timetable for his return.

Acuña left Tuesday's game against the Chicago White Sox after he tried to beat out a grounder and came up hobbling.

The 2023 NL MVP has been hit hard by injuries over the last few seasons. He missed time in 2025 with an Achilles injury and underwent ACL repair surgeries in both 2021 and 2024.

The five-time All-Star owns a .251/.373/.421 slash line with seven home runs, 22 RBIs, and 15 steals this season.

The Braves selected first baseman Rowdy Tellez to the major-league roster and designated right-hander Jhancarlos Lara for assignment in corresponding moves.
