Canada Soccer signed men's national team head coach Jesse Marsch to a four-year extension that will keep him at his post through the 2030 World Cup, the association announced Monday.

"From day one, I've felt a deep connection to this team, to this country, and to the direction of the program," Marsch said in a statement. "I believe Canada has tremendous potential with this generation of players and look forward to seeing the development of soccer across the country.

"I'm thrilled to make a longer-term commitment here, to helping develop this program for years, and continuing to push this group to the highest level."

Marsch first took over the men's side in May 2024 on a two-year term that contracted him through this year's event. In the 52-year-old's first official competition in charge, Canada finished fourth at the 2024 Copa America in its first appearance at the event, losing to Uruguay on penalties in the third-place match. He also led Canada to a third-place finish at the 2025 CONCACAF Nations League finals, including a win over the United States in their final game.

Marsch's new deal is majority funded by five Canadian families "who have made significant commitments in support of" Canada Soccer. His initial contract was partially funded by the country's three MLS clubs: Toronto FC, CF Montreal, and the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Canada opens its 2026 World Cup campaign in Toronto against Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 12.
