Booker replacing Lillard in All-Star Game, Three-Point Contest

Devin Booker is finally heading to his first All-Star Game.

The Phoenix Suns guard will play in the NBA's annual showcase this Sunday in Chicago, the league announced Thursday. This marks the fifth-year pro's first appearance in the star-studded affair.

Booker will serve as the injury replacement for Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard, who withdrew from the festivities due to a groin injury suffered Wednesday.

The 23-year-old Booker will also replace Lillard in the Three-Point Contest. The former Kentucky star won the event in 2018.

On Wednesday, Lillard personally advocated for Booker to serve as his replacement, according to The Athletic's Jason Quick.

Through 52 games this season, Booker's averaging 26.4 points with a 55% effective field-goal percentage along with 6.3 assists and 4.2 rebounds.
