Zion Williamson cleared for full basketball activities
Williamson hasn't played this season as he continues to recover from a fractured right foot. He underwent further imaging on his foot, which was surgically repaired in September, on Nov. 24. Williamson participated in a 4-on-4 full-court workout during Friday's practice, but the 2019 first overall pick still remains without a concrete return-to-play timeline.
The Duke product has been plagued by numerous injuries over his NBA career. Williamson's professional debut was delayed several months until January 2020 because of a torn meniscus suffered during the preseason. He only appeared in 24 games during the 2019-20 season as a result.
Williamson looked dominant in the 61 games he played during his second campaign, posting averages of 27 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while shooting 61.1% from the floor.
The Pelicans have gotten off to a disappointing 4-16 start with Williamson sidelined this season.
