The Denver Nuggets and former first-round pick Cam Whitmore have agreed on a two-way deal ahead of the 2026-27 season, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Whitmore joins Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets following a season with the Washington Wizards where the 22-year-old averaged 9.2 points on 45.6% shooting across 21 games.
He was selected by the Houston Rockets with the 20th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, recording 10.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 119 career games with the Rockets and Wizards.
Whitmore was part of the five-team swap that saw the Nuggets ship Peyton Watson to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a sign-and-trade deal. The Cavs acquired Whitmore as part of the trade that also included the Los Angeles Clippers and Charlotte Hornets before waiving him.
Two-way deals are for players with four or fewer years of NBA experience and permits organizations to commute players between the team and G League affiliate without clearing waivers. Under the terms of his current agreement, Whitmore would not be allowed to play in more than 50 NBA games and is ineligible for the playoffs unless the pact is converted to a standard deal.
