Report: Nets open to trading Kyrie

The Brooklyn Nets maintain they'd welcome back Kyrie Irving if he changes his stance on getting vaccinated, but they're open to discussing trade offers for the superstar guard, sources told SNY's Ian Begley.

Brooklyn has reportedly been open to such talks in recent weeks but hasn't courted offers or initiated negotiations itself.

Due to public health measures in effect in New York City, Irving is unable to participate in home games at Barclays Center. The 29-year-old could still practice at the Nets' facility and participate in road games, but management elected to withhold the seven-time All-Star from playing until he's a "full-time member" of the team.

Irving has a $34.9-million cap hit this season. He also has a $36.5-million player option for the 2022-23 season, after which he'll become an unrestricted free agent.

The Nets are 15-6 (.714) and sit atop the competitive Eastern Conference standings.
