New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson will continue his victory lap when he hosts the sketch comedy "Saturday Night Live" on Sept. 26, the program announced Wednesday.
Brunson will headline the show's Season 52 premiere, with pop group Katseye appearing as the musical guest.
The 30-year-old is set to become the first Knick and fifth NBA player to host the iconic late-night show. He'll join Bill Russell (1979), Michael Jordan (1991), Charles Barkley (1993), and LeBron James (2007) as stars of the hardwood to assume the role.
Brunson was named NBA Finals MVP in June after leading the Knicks past the San Antonio Spurs to capture the franchise's first title in 53 years. He averaged 23 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.3 rebounds in 74 games last season.
The three-time All-Star may also appear on "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" in the near future; series star and Knicks fan Mariska Hargitay said in August that Brunson will "definitely" have a role in the show's next season, according to Variety's Jack Dunn and Marc Malkin.
