Report: Blazers pursuing Raptors' Anunoby, No. 7 pick in play
The Portland Trail Blazers continue to be active on the eve of the NBA draft.
Portland is pursuing Toronto Raptors forward OG Anunoby and is willing to part with the No. 7 overall selection in Thursday's draft, sources told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes.
Anunoby averaged a career-high 17.1 points, 5.5 boards, 2.6 assists, and 1.5 steals across 48 appearances last season. He's been a solid 3-and-D option since entering the Association in 2017 but has struggled to stay healthy over the past two campaigns.
Toronto inked Anunoby to a four-year, $72-million contract extension in December 2020. The former first-round pick has two more guaranteed years remaining on his deal plus a $19.9-million player option for the 2024-25 season.
Portland already reportedly made a huge splash Wednesday evening, acquiring forward Jerami Grant from the Detroit Pistons.
