Luka returns from 5-game absence in win over Blazers
Dallas Mavericks All-Star Luka Doncic recorded 36 points, 13 assists, seven rebounds, and three steals in his return from a wrist injury during Sunday's 137-131 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.
He missed the team's previous five games with the injury.
Quentin Grimes added 28 points, five rebounds, five steals, and three assists for Dallas. All five starters scored in double figures, while Spencer Dinwiddie added 20 off the bench.
Kyrie Irving missed the victory, his second absence of the season with shoulder soreness. Dereck Lively II and Naji Marshall were also out due to a knee injury and an illness, respectively.
The Mavericks went 4-1 in Doncic's absence. They extended their winning to streak to four in Doncic's return.
Doncic has averaged 28.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.6 assists, and 1.6 steals in 14 games this season.
Irving has averaged 24.8 points, 5.6 assists, and 4.8 rebounds this campaign.
Dallas has gone 13-8 so far this season. The Mavericks take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday.
