Kerr angry with refs after missed timeout call: 'Everybody saw it'

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr thinks the officials made a costly mistake in his team's 119-115 road loss to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night.

After a Warriors miss with seven seconds remaining, Christian Braun dove on a loose ball and seemed to signal for a timeout - even though the Nuggets didn't have any remaining. However, a jump ball was called with 1.9 seconds left.

"Braun called a timeout," Kerr said, according to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. "He dove on the floor, he rolled over. Everybody saw it except for the three guys we hire to do the games, and that makes me angry. That's a technical foul. They don't have a timeout left. We shoot a free throw, we get the ball, we got a chance to win the game."

Crew chief Tyler Ford said none of the officials saw Braun motion for a timeout.

Braun also said he didn't signal for one. "It might've looked like it maybe," he said. "I was fumbling the ball on the ground a little bit. My hands moved, but the refs didn't call it."

The Warriors dropped their fifth straight contest, relinquishing a six-point lead with 2:32 remaining in the contest.

"That's not why we lost," Kerr said about the Braun play. "We lost because we didn't close. Again. This is like the fifth game in a row where we've - maybe not all five (losses) - but most of these games in this stretch, we're not closing, we're not executing, we're not making good decisions, and it's got to improve."

Golden State dropped to 12-8 with the loss. The Warriors face the Houston Rockets on Thursday.
