Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant will not return from injury in time for Friday's Game 6 against the Los Angeles Lakers, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Durant is dealing with a bone bruise in his left ankle and has missed all but one game of the series. Houston has won back-to-back contests after being down 3-0.
The 37-year-old didn't play in Game 1 due to a bruised tendon in his right knee. He returned for Game 2 and dropped 23 points in 41 minutes of action before suffering the ankle injury late in the contest.
Durant's injury will require at least two weeks to heal, Charania adds. If the Rockets win Friday's Game 6 in Houston, the series finale will take place 12 days after he sustained the bone bruise.
The 16-time All-Star averaged 26 points, 5.5. rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 78 regular-season contests this campaign.
