The Golden State Warriors are bringing back big man Kristaps Porzingis on a two-year, $40-million contract with a player option in the second year, his agent told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Porzingis joined the Warriors in a February trade from the Atlanta Hawks but played in just 15 of their 27 games following the All-Star break. The 30-year-old was limited by injury but has also dealt with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), a disorder of the autonomic nervous system, since the 2024-25 season with the Boston Celtics.
Porzingis averaged 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 blocks to begin his tenure with the Warriors last season. He scored 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting with five rebounds and five assists in a play-in tournament victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.
However, Porzingis was hobbled by a right ankle injury in the Warriors' second play-in game against the Phoenix Suns, finishing with 11 points in under 15 minutes in a season-ending 111-96 loss. The 7-footer was a minus-22 in the defeat, the worst mark of any player in the contest.
Golden State re-signed center Al Horford on June 25. Longtime Warrior Draymond Green declined his $27.7-million player option earlier Monday.
