The Chicago Bulls traded point guard Rob Dillingham to the Charlotte Hornets for veteran wing Buddy Hield and cash, the teams announced Sunday.

The Hornets had acquired Hield in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday. The 33-year-old appeared in 51 games between the Hawks and the Golden State Warriors last season, averaging 7.6 points on 44% shooting.
Hield joins the eighth franchise of his career after averaging 14.5 points and shooting 40% from beyond the arc over his 10 NBA seasons.
The Hornets create a $9.4-million trade exception and take in $3 million less in salary through the deal, reports ESPN's Shams Charania.
Dillingham, the eighth overall pick in 2024, averaged 9.6 points and 2.8 assists for the Bulls after spending a season and a half with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The 21-year-old will join a crowded backcourt in Charlotte that already includes Kon Knueppel, Coby White, and Grayson Allen, among others.
However, the Hornets freed up a backcourt spot later Saturday by waiving Ryan Nembhard, reports NBA insider Marc Stein. Charlotte acquired Nembhard from the Hawks in the same deal that brought in Hield.
