"I'm going to Virginia and I chose them because I feel most comfortable with the staff and I felt they'd best prepare to win on the college level and achieve my ultimate goal of playing in the NBA," Abdur-Rahim told 247 Sports' Evan Daniels.
The 6-foot-6 wing has been tearing it up on the Nike EYBL circuit, averaging a team-high 25.2 points and eight boards across 13 appearances for the Playaz Club.
Abdur-Rahim joins four-star recruits Reece Beekman and Carson McCorkle in an already impressive 2020 recruiting class for coach Tony Bennett's Cavaliers.
"How comfortable my family and I felt there, it just seemed like somewhere I could see myself succeeding," Abdur-Rahim told ESPN's Jeff Borzello.
Abdur-Rahim is the highest-ranked prospect to commit to Virginia since Kyle Guy, who was drafted in the second round of this year's NBA draft.
