Arizona State star Remy Martin is withdrawing from the NBA draft and returning to school for his senior season, the Sun Devils announced Sunday.

Martin has made an instant impact since arriving in Tempe. He was named the Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year during his freshman season and earned All-Pac-12 second-team honors the following year.

The 6-foot guard thrived in a leadership role in 2019-20, averaging 19.1 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.1 boards. He was named to the All-Pac-12 first team.

"I'm blessed to have the opportunity to coach Remy Martin for one more season," Sun Devils head coach Bobby Hurley said in a statement. "Remy will be one of the best players in college basketball this year and will be on a mission to lead Arizona State basketball in its pursuit of championships."

Second-leading scorer Alonzo Verge announced in July his withdrawal from the NBA draft.

Martin's and Verge's return make Arizona State a bona fide Pac-12 contender. The Sun Devils have a solid incoming recruiting class highlighted by five-star commit Josh Christopher.
