Report: Kentucky's top recruit Quaintance reopening recruitment
Five-star forward Jayden Quaintance requested a release from his commitment to Kentucky and will reopen his recruitment, sources told ESPN's Jeff Borzello.
Quaintance is ESPN's No. 14 prospect in the 2024 class. He was one of two five-stars in Kentucky's No. 2 rated recruiting haul.
The decision to depart from the Wildcats' program comes hours after former head coach John Calipari officially accepted a deal to become Arkansas' new bench boss.
It's unknown whether some of Kentucky's other freshman commits - Boogie Fland, Travis Perry, and Billy Richmond - will also be leaving. Forward Karter Knox and big man Somto Cyril have both re-opened their recruitment since Calipari's departure.
Quaintance originally chose the Wildcats over fellow SEC school Missouri.
