Darius Wabbington, the No. 9 overall prospect on the ESPN 100 for 2027, committed to Indiana, he announced Tuesday on social media.
The five-star recruit chose the Hoosiers over Arizona and Illinois. Earlier this year, Wabbington was on Team USA's silver-medal squad at the FIBA U18 AmeriCup.
"I love the community at Indiana University," Wabbington told ESPN's Jeff Borzello and Paul Biancardi. "It's much like my high school community. It comes out and is passionate.
"When I went to practice, everything was flowing, and the energy was amazing. I love their offense. It's what you see in the NBA today: they play from concepts, constantly flowing. The one thing I took away from practice is that all the players are willing to move the ball and find the open man. As a playmaking big man, that's perfect for me."
Wabbington ranks as the No. 2 center in next year's class, making him Indiana's highest-rated center since ESPN began its recruiting database in 2007, per Borzello.
The 6-foot-10 big man joins four-star guard Chase Branham in the school's 2027 recruiting class.
The Hoosiers went 18-14 last season in their first year under Darian DeVries. Indiana has missed three straight NCAA Tournaments.
