Boston College fires coach Grant after 5 seasons
Boston College fired head coach Earl Grant after five seasons, the school announced.
Grant will leave Boston College with a 72-92 overall record and just one winning season. This year's 11-20 record was the Eagles' worst mark during Grant's tenure.
The 49-year-old spent seven campaigns as the head coach at Charleston before taking the Boston College job. He previously served as an assistant at Clemson for five years before landing a head coaching position.
The Eagles went 4-14 in ACC play this year and ranked 339th in points per game. They defeated Notre Dame on Saturday in their season finale but ultimately lost 10 of their last 12 games.
Boston College hasn't reached the NCAA Tournament since the 2008-09 campaign and hasn't won a March Madness contest since 2007.
