Report: LSU's Stingley ruled out vs. Mississippi State
LSU cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. has been ruled out of Saturday's game against Mississippi State with a foot injury, according to The Athletic's Bruce Feldman and Brody Miller.
Stingley reportedly suffered the injury in practice Wednesday and could be sidelined for an extended period of time.
Stingley, a former All-American, is considered to be among the top defensive back prospects ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft. He burst onto the scene as a freshman, racking up six interceptions during LSU's 2019 national title run.
The junior has eight tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble through three contests this season.
Sophomore Dwight McGlothern will fill in for Stingley against the Bulldogs.
The Tigers recently lost defensive end Andre Anthony for the season with a knee injury.
