Alabama's Milroe tables draft decision, focusing on bowl game vs. Michigan

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe said he isn't certain about his football future beyond playing against Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl on Dec. 31.

"The mission right now is to complete the season," Milroe said, according to The Athletic's Kennington Smith III. "We have one more mission ahead, which is attacking Michigan, and that's the thought process right now. That's where my focus is: winning this game, preparing the right way, and taking care of my body so we can be the best us. I will be playing."

The Crimson Tide are expecting zero opt-outs ahead of their bowl game later this month.

"Everyone should be playing," cornerback Domani Jackson said.

Alabama (9-3) concluded the regular season with a 28-14 win over Auburn in the Iron Bowl. The Crimson Tide narrowly missed a berth in the College Football Playoff, finishing as the first team out in the final rankings.

The program is one victory away from its 17th consecutive 10-win season since 2008 and the first under head coach Kalen DeBoer.

Milroe is among several draft-eligible players, including Jackson and offensive lineman Tyler Booker, who could opt out of Alabama's bowl game to begin preparing for the NFL. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound quarterback is considered a first-round talent ahead of the 2025 draft, going seventh overall in theScore's latest mock draft.

The redshirt junior QB passed for 2,652 yards and 15 touchdowns, adding 719 rushing yards with an additional 20 scores on the ground.

Center Parker Brailsford, projected to be among the top players at his position in next year's draft, announced he'll return to Alabama for the 2025 season.
