Five-star defensive tackle Jalen Brewster reaffirmed his commitment to Texas Tech on Wednesday, shutting down his recruitment, and giving the Red Raiders the top overall prospect in 2027.
"Texas Tech is the best place for me and the best place to build my own legacy," Brewster told Rivals' Hayes Fawcett.
Brewster originally committed to Texas Tech in October 2025, but he's since had official visits with other schools, including Texas, Florida, LSU, and Indiana.
The Tigers were the biggest candidates to flip Brewster's commitment, sources told ESPN's Eli Lederman.
The 6-foot-3, 310-pound lineman represents the highest-ranked addition in Texas Tech history, according to Lederman. The Red Raiders' 2027 class also features two other top-50 recruits: five-star defensive end Anthony Sweeney and four-star quarterback Kavian Bryant.
