Report: Hill expected to miss 4-6 weeks, won't go on IR
Kansas City Chiefs star receiver Tyreek Hill is expected to miss four-to-six weeks after injuring his collarbone in Week 1, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The Chiefs reportedly don't plan to place Hill on injured reserve.
With Hill sidelined, Sammy Watkins will likely take over the No. 1 receiver role. The veteran caught a career-high 198 yards and three touchdowns in a blowout win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Rookie wideout Mecole Hardman's role is also primed to expand. Like Hill, the second-round pick has game-breaking speed. He should become Patrick Mahomes' top downfield weapon until the three-time Pro Bowler is ready to return.
Hill inked a reported three-year, $54-million extension with Kansas City days before the season opener. The wideout racked up 1,479 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2018.
