Dolphins sign Jason McCourty to reported 1-year deal
The Miami Dolphins signed veteran cornerback Jason McCourty, the team announced Friday.
Miami will give McCourty a one-year pact, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 33-year-old will reunite with head coach Brian Flores in Miami. The two spent time together with the New England Patriots, where Flores worked on the defensive staff before becoming the Dolphins' sideline boss.
McCourty played for the Patriots the last three seasons, recording two interceptions and 19 pass breakups during his tenure there. The longtime corner started 11 games during the 2020 campaign but didn't record an interception.
The Rutgers product spent the first eight years of his career with the Tennessee Titans after being selected in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. McCourty also enjoyed a one-year stop with the Cleveland Browns in 2017 before signing with New England.
Miami will insert McCourty into a secondary featuring Xavien Howard and Byron Jones.
