Metcalf: 'Ticking time bomb' for Seahawks' offense to go off
Wide receiver DK Metcalf believes it's only a matter of time until the Seattle Seahawks' offensive skill position players go off.
"'Cause you got (Tyler Lockett), me, (Jaxon Smith-Njigba) and you still haven't seen (Noah Fant)," Metcalf said Wednesday, per NFL.com's Grant Gordon. "You saw (Kenneth Walker III) Week 1. Zach Charbonnet still has to break out. So, I think it's just a ticking time bomb for all of our stars on offense just to have their game."
Metcalf's comments come on the heels of back-to-back one-score victories over the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots.
Walker eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark in Week 1 against Denver, while Metcalf and Smith-Njigba both went over 100 receiving yards in the team's overtime win against the Patriots.
"I think it's bad for the defenses that try to cover us from here on out," Metcalf said of Seattle's multitude of weapons.
Metcalf, 26, also praised quarterback Geno Smith for his ball distribution, saying he shouldn't be viewed as lesser than other starting signal-callers.
"He's an NFL quarterback, just like 31 other NFL quarterbacks," Metcalf said. "I don't think the underrated title should be used anymore. He's very successful at what he does."
Metcalf added: "He's a great leader at quarterback and great at what he does at the quarterback position."
Smith and Metcalf have connected on 13 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown through two weeks. Seattle's offense ranks 13th in yardage and ninth in scoring.
