New York Jets guard Alijah Vera-Tucker suffered a significant arm injury that could require surgery, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Vera-Tucker is getting a second opinion, Schefter adds.

The injury puts Vera-Tucker's season in jeopardy, sources told The Athletic's Dianna Russini.

A first-round pick in 2021, Vera-Tucker has developed into a crucial piece of the Jets' offensive line. However, he's been unable to shake the injury bug throughout his NFL career. His 2022 campaign was limited to seven games due to a torn triceps, while he played only five games in 2023 due to an Achilles injury. He bounced back to start 15 games last year.

The 26-year-old is entering the final year of his rookie contract.
