Bengals' Higgins ruled out vs. Ravens due to concussion
The Cincinnati Bengals ruled out wide receiver Tee Higgins for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens, head coach Zac Taylor announced Friday, according to ESPN's Ben Baby.
Higgins entered the league's concussion protocol after experiencing symptoms following the Bengals' loss to the Buffalo Bills last weekend. The 26-year-old was evaluated during the contest after making a spectacular catch and landing on his head but cleared the NFL's in-game concussion protocol and returned to play.
The Clemson product finished with six receptions for 92 yards and two touchdowns against the Bills.
The Bengals held Higgins out of practice Friday after he was a limited participant Wednesday and Thursday.
Higgins missed Cincinnati's first matchup against the Ravens after being diagnosed with a concussion following the team's game against the New England Patriots on Nov. 23.
He leads the Bengals with nine touchdown catches to go along with 46 receptions for 667 yards in 12 outings this season. Cincinnati will also be without star pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson, who opted to have core muscle surgery earlier this week. Taylor also said that rookie Shemar Stewart is doubtful Sunday as he works through a knee injury.
