The Arizona Cardinals and quarterback Jacoby Brissett are not close to agreeing to terms on a revised deal ahead of the season, according to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss.

The two sides remain "significantly" far apart, a source told Weinfuss.

Brissett has not been in attendance for any of the Cardinals voluntary OTAs or offseason program in his pursuit for a new contract ahead of his second season with the club. Arizona will hold their mandatory minicamp for veterans and rookies from June 8 to 10.

The veteran passer started 12 games for the Cardinals in 2025. Brissett elevated the offense after starter Kyler Murray went down with a season-ending foot injury. He posted career-best numbers after passing for 3,366 yards, 23 touchdowns, 64.9% completion rate, with eight interceptions.

While Brissett enjoyed statistical success, the Cardinals couldn't translate thier potent offense into many victories, finishing with a 3-14 record.

The 33-year-old Brissett is scheduled to earn nearly $4.9 million this season that includes $1.5 million guaranteed, according to Over the Cap.

Head coach Mike LaFleur downplayed Brissett's contractual impasse during the Cardinals' first day of OTAs on May 18, saying that discussions on a new deal for the quarterback were the "same as where we were a few weeks ago."

Brissett has been informed by the team that he will be the Cardinals starting quarterback, a source told ESPN earlier this offseason.

Brissett's absence will likely lead to more reps for other players at his position. Gardner Minshew, Kedon Slovis, and rookie Carson Beck fill out the Cardinal's QB depth chart.
