New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye said he's learned from his Super Bowl LX performance, but it's been challenging to move forward from the team's 29-13 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks.

"People always say, 'Flush it.' I think it's hard to flush a game like that, at that extent in our sport at the highest level," Maye told reporters this week when asked how he's dealt with the loss. "But at the same time, let you learn from it. And let it motivate you."

He added, "We didn't play our best as a team, especially myself. I wish I would've played better. That's something I can work on today or work on tomorrow to get back and just try and get back to that same spot and be on the right side of it."

Maye took a massive leap last season after entering the NFL as the third overall pick in 2024. He threw for 4,394 passing yards and 31 touchdowns and led the league with a 113.5 passer rating in 17 regular-season contests. Maye helped New England post a 14-3 record and secure its first AFC East crown since 2019.

However, Maye's production fell off during the postseason. He completed just 58.3% of his throws with seven touchdowns and eight turnovers in four games, and his minus-29.60 total passing EPA in a playoff run was the worst mark of any quarterback since 2000, according to TruMedia.

Maye specifically struggled in the Super Bowl. He had just 60 passing yards entering the fourth quarter and was sacked six times while facing a 52.8% pressure rate from Seattle's defense, according to Next Gen Stats.

The 2025 MVP runner-up will have his chance for revenge in Week 1, as the Patriots will head to Seattle to face the defending champions in the league's season opener.

"Starting off with a bang like that, a chance to get an opponent that left a bad taste in our mouth. So, I think it's something for us that's going to really make us work. We've got to bring it Week 1 on the road in a tough environment," Maye said.

"They're going to be hanging their banner, and that's the part of it. So, I think it's going to be interesting. It's going to be fun. It's going to be a tough task."
