Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is scheduled to be a free agent after the 2026 season, but he's hoping he won't be looking for a new place to call home.
"I'd love to be a Colt for life," Taylor told reporters Wednesday, including ESPN's Stephen Holder.
He added that he'd like to get a deal done before the season begins.
Taylor, who has spent his entire career with the Colts, is entering the final year of a three-year, $42-million contract he signed during the 2023 season. His previous extension ended a tumultuous negotiating period that even included a trade request.
The 27-year-old rushed for 1,585 yards and a league-leading 18 touchdowns last campaign - his highest output since recording a career-high 1,811 rushing yards in 2021.
Taylor has totaled 7,598 rushing yards since entering the league in 2020, trailing only Derrick Henry (9,185) during this span.
