Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams says he has "a lot more to prove" after being rewarded with a three-year, $24-million contract this offseason.

"It felt good," Williams said of signing his new deal earlier this offseason, according to The Dallas Morning News' Joseph Hoyt. "Just knowing all my hard work paid off and I got a little bit of security."

He added, "I at least want to go to the Pro Bowl and definitely want to get to a Super Bowl with the team. Just working hard, grinding, and trying to be a better version of myself. That's all I'm worried about."

In his 2025 debut season with the Cowboys, Williams recorded a career-high 1,201 rushing yards on 252 attempts and scored 13 total touchdowns. His 12.01 total rush EPA was the fifth highest among all running backs, and his 821 rushing yards after contact ranked sixth across the league, according to Sumer Sports.

The 26-year-old played a crucial role in a Cowboys offense that finished the year second in yards per contest and fifth in offensive points per game. He became the first Dallas running back to eclipse 1,200 yards since Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 1,357 in 2019.

After entering the league as a second-round pick in the 2021 draft, the North Carolina product struggled to consistently produce during his four-year run with the Denver Broncos. He posted 903 rushing yards as a rookie but generated just 1,491 yards over the following three seasons.

Williams also dealt with a slew of injuries during his tenure in Denver, including an ACL and LCL tear in 2022. He credited CeeDee Lamb for his healthy 2025 campaign, saying that the star wide receiver helped him develop a new routine that includes cold and hot tubs, massages, and acupuncture sessions.

"Same stuff," Williams said of what he'll do to remain healthy in 2026. "I feel like if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Dallas will report to training camp July 28 and face off against the New York Giants in its season opener Sept. 13.
